How to Get the Most out of your RV Service Appointment
The goal of any RV service appointment should be to get all of your concerns taken care of in as short a time as possible with the least amount of hassle. In order to help us achieve this goal, here are a few tips to make your next service appointment go as smooth as possible.
Review your owner’s manual for regular maintenance items and service intervals. For instance, regular inspection of roof, window, and slide-out seals; inspecting axles, grease seals, and re-packing the wheel bearings. etc.
Take a logbook or notebook along in your RV and keep a list of needed service items. If you write them down as they come up, nothing will be overlooked when you call for your service appointment, and sufficient time can be scheduled for all the work to be completed during your visit.
When something in your RV fails or stops working correctly, make a note of how is was being used, and any other information that will help a technician duplicate the problem. This is especially true of electrical failures.
E-mail your list of service items to the service dept. (service@mediacampingctr.com) prior to making your appointment. This will allow us to ask you questions if we are not clear on the work that you are requesting.
Include your vehicle identification number (VIN) and/or serial number (motor homes have both) in your e-mail along with the motorhome mileage.
Allow sufficient time when dropping off your RV so you don’t feel rushed. We will want to check-in your coach or trailer, and understand your concerns completely before you leave. We may also want to take photographs of any physical damage or concerns.
Let us know if you have an extended warranty. We can help determine whether a failed component is covered or not and make the necessary phone calls for authorization. Extended service contracts almost always require payment of a deductible portion of the amount, and do not cover troubleshooting or diagnostic procedures to determine why a component failed.
We will ask you to sign the repair order authorizing us to perform the work. If you are dropping off after hours, be sure to sign the drop off envelope and don’t forget to enclose your keys. Be sure to include a phone number where you can be reached during business hours in case we have any questions.
Please try to pick up your RV as soon as possible after the work is completed, and allow some time for us to review the completed work with you.
Our service department staff is here to serve you. Please feel free to share your suggestions on ways that we can make your service appointment as efficient and satisfying as possible.
