Short train rides, longer excursions, tours of the locomotive shop, a museum, gift shop and bookstore will easily fill up a whole day's activity schedule. And while Steamtown is lot's of fun for boys of all ages, mom and the girls will like the fact that great shopping and restaurants are just a short walk from the train yard.

The national Park Service has also announced "2009 Fee-Free Days" at Steamtown plus reduced ticket prices on excursions that makes your visit even more affordable. Web links near the end of this article provide additional information

For more information visit the Steamtown website. Reservations for some train rides are required and it's strongly recommended that you make them well in advance since many sell out quickly.

Steamtown can be a day trip in your RV (there is suitable daytime parking for RVs), or part of a weekend getaway, or even a fun and educational stop-over on a longer RV vacation.
